Atlanta Braves homestand happenings Sept. 21-29

The Atlanta Braves are offering two tickets for the price of one to college students and military personnel for the remaining nine home games of the 2004 regular season. Students and military personnel can show their appropriate identification at the Turner Field Box Office on the day of a game to receive the special offer on tickets for seats located in the Upper Level Box.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21ST - ATLANTA BRAVES vs. CINCINNATI REDS, 7:35

  • Atlanta Crackers Night - The Atlanta Braves will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Atlanta Crackers 1954 Southern Association Championship, on Tuesday, September 21st at Turner Field. Ten members of the 1954 Championship team will join in the celebration. An Atlanta Crackers luncheon at the 755 Club from 11:00-1:00 will be followed by the dedication of a magnolia tree in Monument Grove at 1:30. Braves Executive Vice President and General Manager John Schuerholz will participate in the magnolia tree dedication honoring the fabled 1954 Championship team. The Crackers players will meet fans and sign autographs from 5:00-6:00 in Fan Plaza, and the team will be honored in a pre-game ceremony on the field hosted by Ernie Johnson, Sr. before the Braves take on the Cincinnati Reds at 7:35.

  • Coca-Cola 2-for-1 Tuesdays - Purchase one $8 ticket in the Upper Reserved section and the 2nd ticket is free.

    WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22nd - ATLANTA BRAVES vs. CINCINNATI REDS, 7:05

  • The Roberto Clemente Award Ceremony presented by MLB - The Braves 2004 nominee for the MLB Roberto Clemente Award, to be announced on Wednesday, September 22nd, will be honored in a pre-game ceremony on the field. The Roberto Clemente Award is given to the player who best exemplifies the spirit of baseball, sportsmanship, community involvement as well as having a positive contribution to his team.

  • McDonalds Home Game Advantage - Every Wednesday home game, fans can purchase one $18 ticket in the lower Outfield Pavilion and the second ticket is free.

    THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 23rd - ATLANTA BRAVES vs. CINCINNATI REDS, 7:35

  • Clark Howard Buck Night - Back by popular demand for the last time this season, all Upper Pavilion tickets are $1 in honor of Atlanta's favorite bargain shopper, Clark Howard. Fans can purchase the $1 tickets at Turner Field ticket windows.

  • Leo Mazzone Book Signing - Braves Pitching Coach Leo Mazzone will autograph copies of his book, Tales from the Braves Mound, in the Braves Clubhouse store in Fan Plaza from 6:15-6:45.

    FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 24TH - ATLANTA BRAVES vs. FLORIDA MARLINS, 7:35 - FAN APPRECIATION WEEKEND

  • Disco Night at Turner Field - Fans are encouraged to dress up in their retro 70's gear, arrive early for a pre-game concert with the Neil Diamond cover band, the "Hot August Knights," and stay after the game to enjoy a post-game concert by the famed disco band "Groove Stop". The ChopHouse and Fan Plaza concession areas will continue to serve food and beverages during the "Groove Stop" concert, which will last approximately 90 minutes after the game.

  • Fan Appreciation Weekend - Between every inning of the Atlanta Braves vs. Florida Marlins games, the Atlanta Braves will reward fans in attendance with incredible prizes. Throughout the game, seat numbers will be announced and lucky fans in those seats will win valuable rewards.

  • Braves Power Lunch - Atlanta Braves fans can have lunch with Atlanta Braves third baseman Chipper Jones and outfielders Eli Marrero and Charles Thomas, as the Atlanta Braves hold the season's sixth and final "Braves Power Lunch Presented by Publix" at Maggiano's in Buckhead from noon to 1:00 PM. Tickets are $30, and all proceeds go to the Atlanta Braves Foundation. Fans can purchase tickets by calling Maggiano's at 404.842.0853.

    SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 25TH - ATLANTA BRAVES vs. FLORIDA MARLINS, 7:05 - FAN APPRECIATION WEEKEND

  • Fan Appreciation Weekend - Between every inning of the Atlanta Braves vs. Florida Marlins games, the Atlanta Braves will reward fans in attendance with incredible prizes. Throughout the game, seat numbers will be announced and lucky fans in those seats will win valuable rewards.

  • Nick Green Autograph Session - Braves infielder Nick Green will sign autographs from 2:00-3:00 at the Braves Clubhouse Store at the CNN Center.

  • Hot Dog Eating Contest FINALS - Four finalists will square off in the Braves Hot Dog Eating Contest finale Saturday at 6:00 PM in Fan Plaza. The four contestants, who collectively ate over 40 hot dogs in the preliminary rounds, will have 12 minutes to eat as many Hebrew National Hot Dogs as they can stomach. The winner will receive an autographed Braves jersey and will serve as the Honorary Team Captain as the Braves take on the Florida Marlins.

  • Braves Wives' Brown Bag Bonanza - The Atlanta Braves wives will sell over 600 autographed baseballs, cloaked in brown paper bags, Saturday, September 25th, at Turner Field during the Braves Wives' first annual "Brown Bag Bonanza" to benefit the Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children. Braves fans can purchase the brown bags for a flat fee of $40 and will not know whose autograph they are receiving until they open the bag.

    SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 26TH - ATLANTA BRAVES vs. FLORIDA MARLINS, 1:05 - FAN APPRECIATION WEEKEND

  • Fan Appreciation Weekend - Between every inning of the Atlanta Braves vs. Florida Marlins games, the Atlanta Braves will reward fans in attendance with incredible prizes. Throughout the game, seat numbers will be announced and lucky fans in those seats will win valuable rewards.

  • "Frogg Toggs Chilly Pads Giveaway" - The first 5000 fans will receive a "Frogg Toggs Chilly Pad." This innovative sports towel will keep fans cool in hot weather.

  • MLB Heart Attack Awareness Day - The Atlanta Braves and the American Heart Association want baseball fans to learn about heart attacks - and take action. Sunday, September 26, volunteers from the American Heart Association will distribute information about the risks and the warning signs of a heart attack.

  • All-Star Kids Sundays - Every Sunday the Braves are proud to feature a guest kids line-up announcer, kids honorary team captain, and each Braves player will take the field with a young Braves fan.

  • Kids Run The Bases - In honor of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, the Braves invite all kids ages 4-14 to run the bases after every regular season Sunday home game. Every child that runs the bases will get a certificate from your Atlanta Braves. Just meet at the Hank Aaron ramp entrance on the Field Level after the game.

    MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 27TH - ATLANTA BRAVES vs. NEW YORK METS, 7:35

  • "Closest to the Pin Contest" Sponsored by the Georgia Golf Course Owners Association and Lexus - Ten fans will tee off against John Smoltz from home plate to a golf flag in center field before the Braves take on the New York Mets at 7:35.

  • John Smoltz Nesting Doll Night -- The first 12,000 kids, 14 and under, through the Turner Field gates will receive a limited edition John Smoltz Nesting Doll.

    TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28TH - ATLANTA BRAVES vs. NEW YORK METS, 7:35
