Attended St. Paul’s High School in Brooklandville, Md. where he was a four-year letter-winner in baseball and basketball...As told to the San Francisco Chronicle, Wade penned a book for a middle school project titled “My Love for Baseball” which he dedicated to his parents. In it, he said he became transfixed with the game as a toddler by watching his mom play competitive slow-pitch softball where she was a slugging left fielder...Wade is an avid ping pong player and practices against a robot to improve his skills. His mother, Emily, is also an avid ping pong player and plays competitively in tournaments.

Spent second spring training with the Twins and optioned to Triple-A Rochester March 12....Drew 18 walks in 22 games in April (.436 OBP) for Red Wings, 15 walks in 25 games in May (.333 OBP) and 20 walks in 25 games in June (.429 OBP)....Hit .248 (59-for-238) with 11 doubles, one triple, five home runs, 24 RBI and 51 walks in 70 games for the Red Wings and was recalled by Minnesota June 27 (Willians Astudillo - IL)...51 walks were tied for IL lead at time of recall....Made major league debut June 28 at Chicago-AL, hitting ninth and starting in rightfield; went 0-for-1 with a hit-by-pitch...second Twin to ever be hit by a pitch in first career plate appearance, the other being Brian Dinkelman on June 4, 2011 at Kansas City....Optioned back to Rochester June 29 and played in six more games with the Wings before being recalled again July 6....Placed on Injured List next day, July 7 with a right thumb dislocation, colliding with the centerfield wall that day vs. Texas....Played in 10 games on rehab assignment between Single-A Cedar Rapids and Double-A Pensacola from August 17-27...returned from rehab assignment and reinstated from IL September 1....Recorded his first major league hit and RBI on September 8 vs. Cleveland on an infield single to second base....Hit first career major league home run September 15 at Cleveland, a two-run shot off Shane Bieber....Named best plate discipline in Twins minor league system by Baseball America following season.
