Opening Day, take three.
After participating in openers at St. Louis' Busch Stadium and Milwaukee's Miller Park, the Brewers travel west to San Francisco for Opening Day at the newly renamed SBC Park.
It could be quite a circus as Barry Bonds continues his quest to tie his godfather Willie Mays for third on the career homers list with 660. Bonds moved to within one of Mays with a home run last week against Houston's Roy Oswalt, the winning pitcher in Sunday's Astros-Brewers game at Miller Park.
Bonds will receive his sixth National League MVP trophy before Monday's game from hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, who was the guest of Brewers outfielder Scott Podsednik at a Brewers Spring Training game this year.
The Giants have won three straight home openers, five of six and nine of 11. Two-time Grammy winner and Academy Award winner Peabo Bryson will perform the National Anthem before the game.

Player to watch: With Kinney on the mound, Gary Bennett will handle catching duties. Regarded as more of an defensive-minded catcher, Bennett has been one of the Brewers' hottest hitters this spring. After batting a team-best .538 in Spring Training games, Bennett is off to a 5-for-8 (.625) start this season, with a home run and four RBIs.
Quotable: "There are some question marks in there. We don't know what [Wes] Obermueller is capable of doing. We don't know what Kinney is capable of doing. We have an idea. We like their stuff."
-- Manager Ned Yost on the Brewers' starting rotation.

Pitcher Doug Davis, who is not scheduled to appear in the series, is also from the area and attended the City College of San Francisco. ... Sunday was the Brewers' final home game until April 20, when Richie Sexson and the Arizona Diamondbacks kick off a nine-game, 11-day homestand.
