JUPITER, Fla. -- Miguel Cairo belted a two-run homer and Carlos Beltran delivered an RBI triple to help propel the Mets to a 12-4 win over the Marlins on Saturday in the Grapefruit League finale for both clubs.

A crowd of 6,439 sat through a 25-minute rain delay to start the game.

The Mets flashed a lot of offense, including three doubles from the leadoff spot. Jose Reyes doubled to open the game, and Anderson Hernandez had a pair of two-base hits and an RBI. Luis Garcia added a two-run homer in the eighth.

Marlins starter A.J. Burnett gave up five runs on seven hits with three walks and four strikeouts in four innings. The hard-throwing right-hander tossed 96 pitches and was lifted in the fifth inning with the bases loaded and no outs.

The Mets rallied for three runs with two outs in the third inning. Eric Valent led off with a single. With two outs, Kazuo Matsui laced an RBI double down the third-base line. Beltran ripped a triple to right-center and Mike Piazza's run-scoring single made it 3-0.

In the fourth inning, the Marlins chipped back with two runs. Paul Lo Duca walked and Miguel Cabrera placed a double just out of the reach of leaping first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz.

With the Mets applying their shift for Carlos Delgado, the Marlins' first baseman slapped a hard ground ball that second baseman Matsui fielded in short right field. Lo Duca scored on the ground out. Mike Lowell's sacrifice fly produced the second run.

The Mets tacked on two more runs, both charged to Burnett, in the fifth inning. Victor Diaz had an RBI single off Guillermo Mota and David Wright collected a sacrifice fly.

Mets starter Blake McGinley tossed three scoreless, hitless innings.
