ARLINGTON -- The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation announced on Friday that it has partnered with Make-A-Wish North Texas, including hosting critically ill children at Globe Life Park and donating the Rangers' foundation's net proceeds from Friday's Texas 2 Split 50/50 Raffle to the Make-A-Wish North Texas foundation.
The Rangers also hosted a Make-A-Wish child Friday, with general manager Jon Daniels "signing" the youngster to a contract, giving the kid a personalized locker next to and even some batting practice. And of course, prime seats at Friday's game.
"The Texas Rangers Foundation is proud to partner with Make-A-Wish North Texas," said Rangers chief operating officer and foundation chairman Neil Leibman. "It is an honor and privilege for us to be involved with the great work that Make-A-Wish does in celebrating the tremendous courage and spirit of the wish kids and their families."
The Rangers will have a Make-A-Wish North Texas Weekend on Friday, Aug. 31, and Sunday, Sept. 2, when the club hosts the Twins. The Rangers will again donate raffle proceeds and host Make-A-Wish families.
