As he did in Game 1 of the Cubs' twin bill with the Cardinals, Alfonso Soriano belted a two-run home run, his 27th, but the Cubs were unable to hold an early lead. Sean Marshall lasted just 2 2/3 innings for the first-place Cubs, who now lead the Brewers by one game and the Redbirds by six.
