The Mets put up a solid fight, but they were unable to finish off a sweep of the Red Sox, settling for a series victory and a 5-5 road trip against three tough home teams. After a brief rain delay in the first, Ramon Castro went deep and the offense scratched out a two-run lead, but Boston got to Tim Redding in the fifth and pulled away late.
