The Turn 2 Foundation Camp Program is a partnership between S.C.O.P.E. (Summer Camp Opportunities Provide an Edge) and the Turn 2 Foundation that provides "camperships" for more than 100 children in Turn 2's Signature programs. In 2009, campers attended one of the three participating two-week overnight camps: Camp Fiver in Poolville, N.Y.; Camp YMCA in Huguenot, N.Y.; and Camp Vacamas in West Milford, N.J. Each camp offers numerous activities, including swimming lessons, arts and crafts, horseback riding, computer literacy, hiking and a variety of sports. Many of the campers commented on their experience at camp and their hope to return next year.
"Camp was different than anything I've ever done. I've went fishing, boating, horseback riding, and played tennis. I've never did any of that ever in my life and I've never been around so much bugs! I would tell all my friends to come if they could."
- Damajio, 10
"I really enjoyed camp. This was my second year going. Next year, I want to return as a Counselor in Training. Smaller campers looked up to me and its great being a role model. Camp was a great opportunity to get away from everything."
- Nelly, 15
"Camp was very fun. I've never been able to see or do the activities I did at camp and I'm grateful."
