6:47 a.m. PT: Children sure are surly when they haven't quite woken up yet, it appears -- at least judging from the looks of the groggy youngsters who are watching their parents start to pack up their campsites. The official wakeup call came with a familiar sound to Giants fans. It was the same crowing rooster and chicken dance song played whenever Barry Bonds is issued an intentional walk at SBC Park. That brings a smile to the grumpy kids and even a thumbs-up from one. With the sun now fully above the giant Coke bottle in left field, it's turned decidely warm on the field. The dew that covered everything in sight is quickly drying up as light rock plays on the PA and folks enjoy a cup of juice or some coffee while breakfast is set up. previous entry » |
