Biography:
Olmedo Sanchez Saenz...he and his wife, Sylvia, have a son, Juan Carlos (9/24/92) and daughter, Jaquelyn (5/15/02)...owns a ranch in his native Panama...he is one of four Panamanian players in Dodger franchise history, along with Roberto Kelly, Manuel Barrios and Einar Diaz...took part in the Play Ball L.A. clinic at Ritchie Valens Recreation Center in Pacoima on May 14...participated in the Clayton Baseball Clinic in Panama on Nov. 8, 2005 with President George W. Bush and fellow Panamanians Mariano Rivera, Carlos Lee and Einar Diaz...on Aug. 14, 2006 visited youngsters and read to students at Union Avenue Elementary School...originally signed by White Sox scout Miguel Ibarra.

• Hit .222 (14-for-63) with two homers and 12 RBI as a pinch-hitter
• His 12 pinch-hits were tied for fourth in the Major Leagues
• Hit two pinch-hit homers to finish the year with 12 in his career, tying him for 11th all-time in Major League history...blasted his 11th on June 8 vs. Toronto and his 12th on Sept. 18 at Colorado
• Has eight pinch-homers as a Dodger, tying him with Johnny Frederick and Lee Lacy for second on the franchise list...passed Duke Snider and Billy Ashley in 2007
• Finished the season with 47 career pinch-hits as a Dodger which ranks fourth in franchise history, behind Dave Hansen (110), Manny Mota (106) and Chris Gwynn (52)
• Earned the start on April 22 against Pittsburgh and went 2-for-4 with a home run and a double
• His pinch-hit RBI single in the bottom of the ninth gave the Dodgers a 2-1 victory on May 1 against Arizona
• His two-run blast on June 8 won the game for the Dodgers, 4-3 in the bottom of the ninth, marking his fourth career walk-off homer...with the home run, became the 23rd player in Major League history to hit 11 pinch-hit home runs in his career
