Angels activate Lowe from DL; option Brasier

The Angels optioned right-hander Ryan Brasier to Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday and reinstated Mark Lowe from the disabled list.

Lowe, out since April 19 with a neck strain, had been on a Minor League rehab assignment with Class A Inland Empire. He pitched five innings over three games and struck out six while allowing one run on one hit.

Lowe gave up eight runs and walked eight batters in 6 1/3 innings for the Angels before heading to the disabled list.

Brasier, meanwhile, was the 19th pitcher to appear in a game for the Angels this season. The right-hander made two appearances in four days, allowing two runs on two hits in his first outing against the Orioles and bouncing back with a scoreless two-strikeout inning on Sunday.

Brasier was 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA in 12 innings over 10 appearances for Salt Lake prior to his promotion.
