Wilson announces 'Season of the Whiff'

Halos left-hander teaming up with Head & Shoulders, Old Spice to help RBI

Come Opening Day, the "Season of the Whiff" will begin.

Head & Shoulders and their new "Mane Man," Angels pitcher C.J. Wilson, announced their plans to team up with Old Spice to help inner-city baseball programs around the country. All eyes will be on pitching this year, as each "whiff" made during the 2013 regular season will bring a $1 donation from Head & Shoulders.

"I'm excited to be working with Head & Shoulders this season promoting the 'Season of the Whiff,'" said Wilson. "My job is to strike people out, that's why the Angels brought me in. So if any hitters out there want to help the kids, just go ahead and strike out."

Funds from the whiffs will be donated to the Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) program, which is entering its 25th season this year. RBI has helped more than one million kids across the country since being founded in 1989 by encouraging diverse children 12 and up to pick up baseball through its Rookie League and outreach initiatives.

All the action won't happen on the field though; fans will be able to get in on the action by tweeting the "#whiff" hashtag along with their team's Twitter handle to rack up donations and win MLB prizes.
