Hansel Robles has thrown a perfect game -- sort of.

The Angels' right-hander retired 27 straight batters, striking out 10 of them, over seven appearances from Aug. 21 through Saturday, when with two outs in the top of the ninth inning, the Rays' Eric Sogard reached on an error by second baseman David Fletcher.

Though Robles' "hidden perfect game" was over, he still has the "hidden no-hitter" going. Following the error that enabled Sogard to reach Saturday, Robles struck out Kevin Kiermaier to end the frame.

On Sunday, Robles entered the Angels' 6-4 victory over Tampa Bay with two outs in the top of the eighth. He struck out pinch-hitter Ji-Man Choi, and then after walking Joey Wendle to open the ninth, retired the next three Rays in order to close out the victory.

Overall, Robles hasn't given up a hit in 10 2/3 innings. That is the second-longest streak this season behind the 11 1/3 consecutive hitless innings put together by the Brewers' Josh Hader from June 6-29.

Since 1908, the Athletics' Blake Treinen (Aug. 25, 2018, to Sept. 21, 2018) and the Braves' Brad Clontz (Sept. 25, 1997, to April 27, 1998) are tied for the longest hitless streak, at 13 1/3 innings.
