Angels third baseman Jack Mayfield used a Crayola crayon as a bat on Sunday night.

Sort of.

Unveiled appropriately enough for the MLB Little League Classic in Williamsport, Pa., Mayfield strode to the plate with a bright yellow bat resembling the schoolhouse staple. The words “Foul Pole Yellow” were emblazoned up along the barrel. The Crayola Factory is in Easton, Pa., about two hours east of Williamsport.

Mayfield went 0-for-3 in the Angels' 3-0 loss to Cleveland. But on a night that was all about the kids, he took everyone back to their childhood.
