It took Shane Bieber four starts, but the Indians' No. 8 prospect finally recorded his first Triple-A win.
Bieber allowed three hits and struck out eight as he matched his career high by working eight scoreless innings to lead Triple-A Columbus past Charlotte, 2-1. The right-hander induced 12 ground-ball outs and did not issue a walk in the outing, throwing 66 of his 94 pitches for strikes.
Bieber earned an early promotion to Columbus after a dominant five-start showing with Double-A Akron to begin the season. Logging 31 innings, the 22-year-old went 3-0 with a 1.16 ERA and a 30-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio. He's been equally impressive since joining the Clippers, for whom he's pitched to a 1.32 ERA with 24 strikeouts and two walks in 27 1/3 innings.

Altogether, Bieber owns a 1.23 ERA and a 0.79 WHIP in nine starts between the two levels. He's compiled 54 strikeouts against three walks in 58 1/3 innings, giving him a 237-to-17 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 255 2/3 professional innings.
Yu Chang, Cleveland's No. 6 prospect, hit a two-run home run in the third inning to provide Bieber with an early lead. The 22-year-old infielder is slashing .252/.329/.402 on the season, with three home runs and 10 doubles through 37 games.

• No. 2 overall prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Blue Jays' No. 1) hit a two-run walk-off home run, capping a perfect 4-for-4 day at the plate in Double-A New Hampshire's victory over Binghamton in Game 1 of a doubleheader. The homer was the 19-year-old phenom's eighth of the season, and he added an RBI single in the nightcap, finishing 1-for-3 with a walk. Through 39 games, Guerrero is leading the Eastern League in average (tied-.421), OPS (1.169), hits (64), doubles (16), RBIs (45) and total bases (106).

• No. 48 overall prospect Keibert Ruiz (Dodgers' No. 3) went 2-for-5 with a solo home run as Double-A Tulsa fell to Arkansas, 11-9. The 19-year-old switch-hitter has hit all five of his home runs from the left side of the plate. He's hitting .287 over 32 games this season and owns a .361 average during his current nine-game hitting streak.

• No. 57 overall prospect Jo Adell (Angels' No. 1) hit his fifth home run in his past six games, accounting for Class A Burlington's lone run in a 2-1 loss against Wisconsin. The 18-year-old outfielder is off to a fast start in his first full season, slashing .326/.398/.611 with six homers and 29 RBIs over 25 games in the Midwest League.

• Cubs' No. 30 prospect Jason Vosler hit a solo homer and later added a two-run shot to record his first multi-homer game of the year for Double-A Tennessee. The 24-year-old third baseman posted a pair of two-homer games as well as one three-homer game with Tennessee in 2017, hitting a career-best 21 homers in 129 games.
• D-backs' No. 3 prospect Jasrado Chisholm is up to seven home runs in his first full season after connecting on his third homer in two games for Class A Kane County. He's slashing .277/.352/.580 with 18 extra-base hits and 18 RBIs through 28 games. Right-hander Jhoan Duran (No. 16) was sharp on the mound in a no-decision, tossing a season-high five scoreless innings of one-hit ball with one walk and four strikeouts.

• Marlins' No. 11 prospect Edward Cabrera went the distance for Class A Greensboro, firing a four-hit shutout against Lakewood in Game 1 of a doubleheader. It was the first career complete game and shutout for the 20-year-old flamethrower, as he allowed four hits and struck out five while firing 52 of his 80 pitches for strikes in the career-long outing.
• Mets' No. 2 prospect David Peterson was a tough-luck loser for Class A Columbia despite posting his third straight seven-inning start. The 2017 first-rounder allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits, striking out seven and generating another nine outs on the ground. Peterson owns a 1.91 ERA through 37 2/3 innings in his first full season.

• Orioles' No. 6 prospect Cedric Mullins was a catalyst out of the leadoff spot for Double-A Bowie with a 3-for-5, four-RBI performance. Two of those hits were for extra bases, as Mullins tallied his sixth home run, a two-run shot, and 11th double. The 23-year-old outfielder has hit safely in six straight games, during which he's raised his overall average from .254 to .282.

• One level down, Orioles' No. 13 prospect Michael Baumann allowed one earned run on four hits in seven innings as he tossed his first career complete game in his Class A Advanced Frederick debut. Pitching Game 1 of a doubleheader, the 22-year-old righty issued one walk and struck out a pair while throwing 63 of 94 pitches for strikes. He's been dominant to begin his career, going 10-2 with a 1.34 ERA, a .176 opponents average and 92 strikeouts in 87 1/3 innings (19 games/18 starts) across four levels.
• Padres' No. 8 prospectLogan Allen racked up a career-high 12 strikeouts in six innings as he improved to 6-1 in nine starts for Double-A San Antonio. The 20-year-old southpaw gave up three earned runs on seven hits and two walks while throwing a season-high 102 pitches (72 strikes) in the outing. He's completed at least six innings in five straight starts.

• Pirates' No. 13 prospectOneil Cruz hit solo homers in both ends of Class A West Virginia's doubleheader loss against Lexington. Acquired from the Dodgers at last year's Trade Deadline, the 19-year-old shortstop has shown big-time power in his first full season with the Pirates, totaling seven home runs over 38 games in the Midwest League.
• White Sox No. 6 prospect Zack Collins connected on a pair of solo homers as part of a 3-for-4 game, his first three-hit performance this season, in Double-A Birmingham's loss to Montgomery. The 23-year-old catcher has produced an .876 OPS and seven home runs in 38 games.
