Major League Baseball today announced the regular season schedule for the 2020 season. The Angels will begin their 60th Major League Season on Thursday, March 26, at Minute Maid Park in Houston, marking the fourth consecutive year the Angels will open on the road. It is also the first time the Angels will begin a season against the Astros.

Following the Opening Series against the Astros, the Angels will play the Rangers in the first regular season games (March 31-April 2) at the new Globe Life Field in Arlington. The Angels have previously played in the first regular season MLB games at two previous road ballparks: The Kingdome (April 6, 1977) and Arlington Stadium (April 21, 1972).

The Home Opener is scheduled for Friday, April 3, at Angel Stadium vs. Houston to kick off a six-game homestand against the Astros (April 3-5) and Athletics (April 6-8). The 2020 schedule features 12 total homestands.

The Angels will play 20 total Interleague games in 2020, including 16 against N.L. East opponents and four against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Angels will host the Washington Nationals (May 11-13), Miami Marlins (June 9-10), Dodgers (July 10-11) and New York Mets (Aug. 18-20) in Interleague play, while making stops in Miami (April 14-15), Atlanta (July 3-5), Philadelphia (July 17-19) and Los Angeles (N.L.) (Aug. 25-26). The trip to Atlanta will mark the Angels first ever games at SunTrust Park.

During a 29-day stretch from August 13 through September 10, the Angels will play just three games outside Southern California. The first of two season-high 10-game homestands takes place August 13-23 vs. Houston, New York (N.L.) and Tampa Bay. Following an off day, the Angels head to Dodger Stadium for a pair of games (Aug. 25-26) before heading to Seattle for a three-game series (Aug. 28-30). The team returns to Angel Stadium for its second consecutive 10 game homestand from Aug. 31-Sept. 9 vs. Texas, Kansas City and Houston.

The longest road trip of the season will be an 11-day, eight-game trip, spanning from April 9-19 where the Angels will play Detroit (April 10-12), Miami (April 14-15) and Houston (April 17-19).
