Angels acquire RHP Raisel Iglesias

Reds receive RHP Noé Ramirez and a player to be named later or cash considerations from Angels

ANAHEIM -- The Angels today acquired RHP Raisel Iglesias and cash considerations from the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for RHP Noé Ramirez and a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Iglesias, 30, made 22 appearances for the Reds in 2020 and compiled a 4-3 record with eight saves, a 2.74 ERA (23 IP – 7 ER) and a 6.20 strikeout to walk rate (31 strikeouts – 5 walks).

A native of Isla de la Juventud, Cuba, Iglesias has totaled 274 career games (21 starts) across six Major League seasons with Cincinnati. He has pitched exclusively in relief since June 2016 and is one of five Major Leaguers to compile 100 saves since 2017.  

Ramirez, 30, posted a 1-0 record with a 3.00 ERA across 21 innings in 2020. Initially acquired by the Angels from the Red Sox in 2017, the right-hander appeared in 151 games across four seasons with the Halos and registered a 13-9 record with a 4.04 ERA (211 IP – 98 ER).
