WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The Astros made their second round of roster moves on Wednesday, reassigning four to Minor League camp.

Houston trimmed its Spring Training roster to 49 players by sending outfielder , right-hander and lefties and to their Minors camp. That leaves 35 players on the 40-man roster still in Major League camp, along with 14 non-roster invitees.

"All of them, being on the 40-man roster, [still] have a chance to make some sort of contribution," Astros manager A.J. Hinch said. "On the pitching side, we're going to need double-digit number of starters just by the nature of a 162-game schedule."

Guduan had turned in some good outings in his five Grapefruit League appearances. Over 4 2/3 innings of work, the left-hander surrendered just three earned runs on eight hits. He struck out five and walked two.

Tolliver, who tied for the team lead with six Grapefruit League appearances, gave up seven earned runs on nine hits over 4 2/3 innings. He walked one and struck out five.

With the Astros lacking left-handers in the bullpen, Hinch said both lefties would also have their opportunities to help the club during the regular season.

"If we could configure our bullpen at some point to have multiple lefties, that would be ideal," Hinch said. "Both have promise."

Rodgers is a Houston-area product out of Richmond, Texas, and Lamar Consolidated High School. He pitched in five games last season with the Astros, including one start, posting an 0-1 record and a 15.12 ERA.

This spring, Rodgers made four appearances, yielding nine runs on 13 hits over eight innings. He posted four strikeouts to go along with two walks.

"Rodgers going down to work on a few things should help us at some point," Hinch said.

Aplin appeared in 12 Grapefruit League games this spring, going 1-for-9 with two runs scored.
