HOUSTON, TX - On Sunday, June 16, the inaugural Father's Day "Picnic in the Park" will take place in the outfield of Minute Maid Park! Fans who purchase charitable Picnic tickets will enjoy a one-hour autograph session with all the Astros players, a buffet cookout provided by the Houston Astros Hospitality Group and ARAMARK, musical entertainment and children's games including face painting, running the bases, strolling magicians, and, of course, playing catch in the outfield of Minute Maid Park. The Picnic in the Park, which is a charitable fundraiser for the Astros Foundation, begins approximately 45 minutes after the conclusion of their game against the Chicago White Sox. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to bid on an auction of unique player experiences, and receive a picnic blanket to use and enjoy during the picnic in the outfield and beyond. And if the Houston heat threatens, it won't impact the festivities at Minute Maid Park as guests will be treated to their very first air-conditioned picnic! It's a great way to celebrate Father's Day and support the team charity's youth baseball and softball programs serving at-risk youth. Since this is a charitable fundraiser, a portion of the Picnic ticket purchase price is tax deductible.
Picnic tickets are $100 for adults (15 years and older) and $25 for children ages 6-14. Fans under 5 years of age are admitted for free when accompanied by a ticketed adult. Corporate sponsorships with additional amenities are also available through the Astros Foundation.
Tickets for Picnic in the Park are available today, and can be purchased online at www.astros.com/picnic, through email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 713-259-8851.
