Orbit's birthday celebration to feature themed giveaways, guest appearances and a special Big and Bright Friday Night fireworks display

HOUSTON, TX - The Astros are celebrating the birthday of their favorite furry green alien, Orbit, during this upcoming nine-game homestand at Minute Maid Park as they host former NL rivals the Atlanta Braves (June 24-26), the 2013 Central Division Champion Detroit Tigers (June 27-29) and Robinson Cano and the Seattle Mariners (June 30-July 2). The birthday festivities are presented by Kroger, Minute Maid and Coca-Cola.

Every Thursday home game this season is a Dollar Hot Dog Thursday, where fans can purchase an unlimited number of Nolan Ryan Beef hot dogs at $1 each while supplies last (limit of four per person per concession visit).

Big and Bright Friday Night returns with special alien-themed music to accompany the postgame fireworks show in honor of Orbit's birthday weekend this Friday, June 27, presented by Marathon Oil Corporation, following the 7:10 p.m. game vs. the Detroit Tigers.

On Saturday, June 28, 10,000 fans will receive an Orbit BP jersey, courtesy of Coca-Cola, as part of Orbit's birthday weekend celebration as the Astros take on the Detroit Tigers at 3:10 p.m. The following day, Sunday the 29th, mascots from around Major League Baseball, including Dinger from the Colorado Rockies, Raymond from the Tampa Bay Rays and D. Baxter from the Arizona Diamondbacks, as well as fellow Houston mascots Clutch and Diesel will visit Minute Maid Park to help Orbit celebrate his big day by signing autographs and causing mischief throughout the ballpark. Additionally, 10,000 fans will receive an Orbit antenna giveaway, also presented by Coca-Cola, as the Astros wrap up their three-game set vs. Detroit in a 1:10 p.m. contest.
