Cards powerful as Martinez hits 4th spring HR

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- hit a go-ahead RBI single in a two-run seventh inning and hit his fourth homer of the spring as the Cardinals rallied for a 12-6 win over the Astros on Monday night at The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches.
Martinez, who launched a two-run blast in the fourth inning, scored on 's inside-the-park homer in the eighth inning. Martinez and Garcia added RBI singles in a four-run ninth as they both finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
"His homer was just loud," Cards manager Mike Matheny said of Martinez's homer that cleared the lawn beyond the left-field fence. "He's taking great at-bats with us. He's fun to watch."
Astros outfielder led off the game with a double and scored on a double-play grounder off the bat of , who was in the lineup for the first time since March 5 following Team Venezuela's exit from the World Baseball Classic. Marisnick (2-for-3) stroked a two-run double to left in the third and scored on a single by (3-for-3) to make it 4-0.
A bases-loaded, pinch-hit single by in the sixth led to a pair of runs coming home to tie it after the Astros had built a four-run lead through three innings against Cardinals starter Mike Leake.
Leake worked five innings and allowed five hits, four runs and three walks to go with three strikeouts. Astros starter Joe Musgrove, meanwhile, allowed four hits, two runs, one walk and one hit by pitch and struck out two in five innings.
