Prospect Springer named to midseason All-Star team

ST. PETERSBURG -- Baseball America named Astros prospect George Springer to their midseason Minor League All-Star team on Wednesday. The publication selected one player for each position, regardless of level, to fill out the team. Springer, who was promoted to Triple-A Oklahoma City on June 27, has hit .412 (21-for-51) with seven home runs and 17 RBIs. Springer, an outfielder, also has five stolen bases.

In 88 games at the Double-A and Triple-A level, Springer has batted .315 (102-for-324) with 26 home runs, 21 doubles, 72 RBIs and 28 stolen bases.
