Fresh off signing a six-year, $24 million extension Sunday, Phillies' No. 2 prospect Scott Kingery wasted no time celebrating on the field.
The No. 35 overall prospect in baseball, Kingery walked in the first inning of Monday's Spring Training contest versus the Pirates before crushing a solo home run off Pittsburgh right-hander Trevor Williams in the third.
Kingery, 23, added a double and two singles to finish the game 3-for-4 and raise his spring batting average to .418. The long ball was his fifth of Spring Training, and it brought his on-base plus slugging percentage up to 1.248.
A second baseman by trade, Kingery earned a spot on the Phillies' Opening Day roster as a utility man. His bat has just been too good to keep out of the Philly lineup to begin 2018.
Other top prospect performances from Monday's action:
• Astros' No. 2 prospect Kyle Tucker was given one at-bat versus the Brewers. It was all he needed to make an impact, as he smacked a grand slam off Milwaukee's Quintin Torres-Costa. The homer was Tucker's fifth of the spring, tied with Kingery for most among Top 100 prospects, and raised his average to .439. He has a 1.345 OPS in Spring Training.

• The Orioles' No. 1 prospect, outfielder Austin Hays has impressed with the bat this spring. Monday was no different, as Hays went 2-for-5 with two runs scored while playing with Triple-A Norfolk against the big league club. Hays is now batting .400 with an .800 OPS this spring.
• J.P. Crawford, the Phillies' No. 3 prospect helped Philadelphia climb out to a 3-0 advantage over the Pirates when he scored on Nick Williams' single in the first inning before singling in two runs in the second. He also walked in the contest, bringing his OPS up to .648 this spring. The 23-year-old is expected to begin the season as the Phillies' shortstop and nine-hole hitter.
• Reds' No. 4 prospect Jesse Winker turned on the jets against the Rangers, swiping his second base of spring on a double steal in the third inning. He also singled in four at-bats and is hitting .340 with a .904 OPS in Spring Training.

• Max Schrock, the Cardinals' No. 10 prospect, raced around the bases for his first triple of Spring Training and added a single versus the Blue Jays for good measure. They were his two first at-bats of spring; not a bad first impression for 2018.

• It wasn't until the seventh inning that Boston's No. 11 prospect Josh Ockimey entered the game versus the Cubs, but he sure made his one at-bat count. Facing Chicago's C.J. Edwards, Ockimey laced a pinch-hit single right back up the box to give the Red Sox a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

• Pirates' No. 10 prospect Lolo Sanchez successfully executed a straight steal of home plate in Pittsburgh's loss to the Phillies. He made sure to get a big lead off third, and showed off his impressive speed as the throw from pitcher Edubray Ramos sailed high. The 18-year-old outfielder batted .284/.359/.417 with 14 steals for the Rookie-level GCL Pirates in 2017.

• The Braves' No. 15 prospect, A.J. Minter impressed on the mound, inducing strikeouts of the Yankees' Neil Walker and Brandon Drury while also getting Aaron Hicks to ground out. Minter, 24, has 12 strikeouts in 8 1/3 innings in Spring Training and has yet to allow a run.
• Yefry Ramirez, the Orioles' No. 19 prospect, fired three innings of one-run ball, allowing just two hits in a start for Triple-A Norfolk versus his big league counterparts. He lowered his spring ERA to 3.00 with the solid outing.
