A's in the Community

Community Events

The Oakland A's Community Fund takes an innovative and dynamic approach to support education, promote youth sports, and provide economic opportunity in order to help make Oakland and the East Bay a more inclusive and equitable community.

Giving Tuesday

Join the A's every year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving when we celebrate #GivingTuesday, a global movement that marks the beginning of the charitable season. During our fundraising campaign on Giving Tuesday, all funds raised will benefit the Oakland A's Community Fund. Check back next year for more information!

Oakland A's Play Ball events

Throughout the 2018 season, we hosted six A's Play Ball events, presented by Sutter Health. The A's, joined by the Street Team, Stomper, and Hall of Fame racers, welcomed families and children from the local community to Oakland parks for whiffle ball, face painting, and A's prizes. A's Play Ball is in support of MLB's PLAY BALL initiative, which encourages young people and communities to engage in baseball and softball-related activities. Video coming soon.
