A's option LHP Joe Savery to Triple-A Sacramento

OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland Athletics have optioned left-handed pitcher Joe Savery to Triple-A Sacramento, it was announced today. The option clears a 25-man roster spot for left-handed pitcher Jeff Francis, who was claimed off waivers from Cincinnati earlier today.

Savery was 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA in three relief appearances for the A's. He was recalled from Sacramento on May 9 and made his A's debut a week ago today against Washington. He was 4-0 with a 3.86 ERA in 10 relief appearances with the River Cats.
