A's option RHP Neil Wagner to Triple-A Sacramento

OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Oakland A’s optioned right-handed pitcher Neil Wagner to Triple-A Sacramento, the club announced today.  Wagner is replaced by right-handed pitcher Rich Thompson, who was claimed off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels earlier today.

Wagner was recalled by the A’s on Tuesday but did not appear in a game with Oakland. He made three relief appearances with Sacramento and was 1-0 with a save, a 5.06 ERA and .273 opponents batting average.  Wagner did not walk a batter in 5.1 innings and struck out eight.
