A's reinstate LHP Brett Anderson; Place RHP Paul Blackburn on the DL

The Oakland A's have reinstated left-handed pitcher Brett Anderson from the 10-day disabled list, and have placed right-handed pitcher Paul Blackburn on the 10-day disabled list retroactive to July 7 with right elbow lateral epicondylitis.

The Oakland A's have reinstated left-handed pitcher Brett Anderson from the 10-day disabled list, and have placed right-handed pitcher Paul Blackburn on the 10-day disabled list retroactive to July 7 with right elbow lateral epicondylitis.
Anderson returns to the A's after missing 44 games due to a strained left shoulder. He has made four starts with Oakland this season, going 0-2 with a 7.63 ERA including eight strikeouts and six walks across 15.1 innings of work. Anderson made seven starts with Triple-A Nashville to begin the 2018 season, going 2-1 with a 2.78 ERA in 32.1 innings pitched.
This is Blackburn's second stint on the disabled list this season after he missed the first 62 games of the year due to a strained right forearm. He went 2-3 in his six starts for Oakland, including a 7.16 ERA, 19 strikeouts, and six walks in 27.2 innings pitched.
