"Maybe it's because it's in my blood," said Cespedes, who holds the all-time A's record for a postseason hitting streak to start a career and longest hitting streak in Division Series play in the history of the franchise. "In Cuba, I was always fortunate to do well in big games."

Cespedes, who has lingering pain in his right shoulder, is hitting .385 (5-for-13) in the series, with a home run, a triple, three runs scored and two RBIs.

"I feel good," he said. "Physically I'm still not 100 percent, but mentally I'm 100 percent, which is the main thing for me."
