Cespedes returns from DL for finale vs. O's

Fellow outfielder Wells designated for assignment to make room on roster

Yoenis Cespedes was reinstated from the 15-day disabled list and back in Oakland's lineup on Sunday, batting cleanup and playing left field in the team's series finale against the Orioles.

Outfielder Casper Wells was designated for assignment to make room for Cespedes, who had been on the DL since April 13 with a strained muscle in his left hand.

Cespedes, 27, was 3-for-9 with a home run and four RBIs in three rehab games with Triple-A Sacramento.

He was batting .200 with three home runs and seven RBIs in 11 games before his injury. The A's are 8-2 with Cespedes in the lineup, compared to 5-10 without him.
