For A's Moss, being dad at Christmas can't be beat

A's first baseman Brandon Moss, coming off the first 30-home run season of his career, is now enjoying some downtime with his family in his native Georgia.

The holidays are always a busy time for the Mosses, but this year is even more special for the family of four, with Brandon, wife Allie and 4-year-old son Jayden getting to enjoy Christmas for the first time with 8-month-old Brody.

Moss recently took some time to talk to about his favorite holiday memories, past and present. What are your best memories of the holidays from when you were growing up?

Moss: Going over to my grandma's and playing football with my dad and cousins. What's your favorite thing about the holidays now?

Moss: Just being with my family. My wife and I really enjoy shopping for our boys and getting into the Christmas spirit. What's it like being a dad around Christmas time?

Moss: Being a dad is 10 times more fun than being a kid during Christmas, because you get to relive everything through the eyes of your own children. What's the best present you ever got when you were a kid?

Moss: A mini dirt bike. What's the best present you ever gave?

Moss: A tanning bed. Does your family have any special holiday traditions?

Moss: Every year we get together to make Christmas candy at my grandparents. How would you describe yourself as a shopper?

Moss: Impulsive, yet indecisive. If you could give [A's GM] Billy Beane anything for Christmas, what would it be?

Moss: Definitely a large framed picture of myself. What better gift could there be?
