Did you know? ALDS Game 3: OAK 6, DET 3

A look at some notable facts and figures from the Oakland Athletics' 6-3 win over the Detroit Tigers in Game 3 of the American League Division Series at Comerica Park on Monday.

• Tigers right-hander Anibal Sanchez's start (4 1/3 innings) was his shortest since June 15. He went five or more innings in 27 of his 29 starts this season.

• Against the A's at Comerica Park this season, Sanchez allowed nine earned runs -- including four home runs -- in 9 1/3 innings.

• Only two pitchers with at least 120 innings gave up fewer home runs than Sanchez this year. The Athletics had three Monday.

• Oakland hit 186 home runs during the season -- the most of any playoff team -- and hit its first three of the postseason in Monday's game.

• The A's are 64-6 this year when hitting more home runs than their opponent.

• Oakland's Brandon Moss has hit five home runs in five games at Comerica Park.

• The A's Josh Reddick entered Monday 0-for-9 with two strikeouts in his career against Sanchez. His first hit against him was a solo home run in the fourth for his second career postseason homer.

• Oakland's Seth Smith entered the series 7-for-19 with three career regular-season homers versus Sanchez. He went 2-for-3 with a home run in Game 3.

• Detroit's Miguel Cabrera extended his franchise record by reaching base in his 27th consecutive postseason game.

• The A's Yoenis Cespedes has hit safely in eight consecutive games, which is tied for the fourth-longest postseason hitting streak in Athletics history.

• The A's have scored 40 runs in five games this season at Comerica Park.

• A's pitchers had a 20-inning scoreless streak against the Tigers before a three-run fourth -- the longest streak in A's postseason history since the 1974 team had a 30-inning streak.

• The A's turned the fewest double plays in the Majors this year, but they turned two key twin killings Monday.

• After going 10-for-26 (.385) in seven regular-season games against the Tigers, the A's Jed Lowrie is 0-for-10 with five strikeouts in the ALDS.

• The A's and Tigers combined to put up as many runs through the first 3 1/2 innings of Game 3 (six) as they did in the first two games of the ALDS.

• Detroit is 6-49 this year when trailing after seven innings.

• Teams which go ahead 2-1 in a Division Series have won the series 35 out of 43 times.
