MESA, Ariz. -- Brandon Guyer homered and doubled from the DH spot in his Cactus League debut, as the Indians clobbered the host A's, 15-5, at Hohokam Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
"It was a long time coming," said Guyer, whose debut was delayed due to a right hamstring issue. "I had to test it a little bit. I wasn't full out, but I got to test it and it felt good. That's what I was worried about, but it all feels good now."

Bench candidate Erik Gonzalez also homered for the Indians, a three-run shot in a four-run third inning. Cleveland posted four runs in the opening frame as well, rattling off three doubles against A's left-hander Sean Manaea, who was forced to throw 33 pitches in the inning.
Manaea, pegged as Oakland's third starter, was on the hook for five runs (four earned) and five hits in 1 2/3 innings in his second spring outing. He walked one and struck out two.
"Everything just wasn't there today," Manaea said. "My changeup, I felt like it had some good action to it, but I just wasn't throwing it for a strike. That's something I have to work on, and it's something that needs to be executed a lot better than it was today."
The Indians plated runs in each of their first five innings, getting another home run in the fifth off the bat of Lonnie Chisenhall, who finished with two hits and three RBIs. As a team, Cleveland outhit the A's, 19-10.
"You need a day like this," Indians manager Terry Francona said. "You don't want guys to play more than they're ready for, but when they can get four at-bats quick, they start to get some rhythm and some timing and it's good for everybody. Guyer steps in and, you don't want him to play real long, but he can get three quick at-bats and I'm sure he feels pretty good about himself."
Infield prospects Chad Pinder and Renato Nunez homered for Oakland.
Indians up next: Right-hander Trevor Bauer is scheduled to start for the Tribe in a 3:05 p.m. ET Cactus League game against the Padres on Sunday at Goodyear Ballpark. Cleveland's late-inning trio of Andrew Miller, Cody Allen and Bryan Shaw is also slated to appear. Outfielder Brad Zimmer, the Indians' No. 1 prospect per MLBPipeline.com, is in the planned starting lineup, along with shortstop Francisco Lindor and slugger Edwin Encarnacion.
A's up next: The A's will travel to Peoria on Sunday for a meeting with Mariners ace Felix Hernandez and Co, which can be watched live on MLB.TV. Oakland will counter with right-hander Jharel Cotton in the 12:05 p.m. PT matchup, with fifth-starter candidate Andrew Triggs and top pitching prospect A.J. Puk also scheduled to pitch in the game. Outfielder Jake Smolinski will DH in his spring debut.
