LHP Justin Marks Claimed off Waivers by Texas

OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's announced today that left-handed pitcher Justin Marks has been claimed off waivers by the Texas Rangers.

Marks was acquired by the A's from Kansas City on June 6 in exchange for cash considerations. He was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento that day and did not allow a run or hit in four relief appearances with the River Cats (3.2 ip). The 26-year-old left-hander was 3-2 with a 5.64 ERA in 13 games, two starts, with Triple-A Omaha. Marks was recalled by the Royals April 17 and made his Major League debut in relief April 20 against Minnesota, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks in 2.0 innings.
