A’s reinstate OF Laureano from IL; recall RHP Cyr from Las Vegas; RHP Oller placed on IL; OF Stevenson optioned to Las Vegas

OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland Athletics reinstated outfielder Ramón Laureano from the 10-day injured list and recalled right-handed pitcher Tyler Cyr from Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced today. The A’s also placed right-handed pitcher Adam Oller on the 15-day injured list retroactive to Sept. 4 with right rib costochondritis and optioned outfielder Cal Stevenson to Las Vegas.

Laureano was hitting .223 with 12 home runs, 29 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 84 games when he was placed on the 10-day injured list Aug. 16 with a strained left oblique. He began a rehab assignment with Single-A Stockton last Thursday and went 3-for-12 (.250) in three games.

Cyr was claimed off waivers from Philadelphia on Aug. 24 and made four relief appearances with Las Vegas, allowing three runs on seven hits and five walks in 5.0 innings. He made his Major League debut with the Phillies on Aug. 21 against the Mets, allowing a run on two hits in 0.1 innings before he was designated for assignment the next day. The 29-year-old right-hander also pitched in 35 games for Lehigh Valley and was 2-3 with six saves, a 2.85 ERA and .619 opponents OPS in 39 relief appearances overall at Triple-A. Cyr was born in Fremont and is a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School.

Oller is 2-7 with a 6.01 ERA and .907 opponents OPS in 18 games, including 13 starts, over four stints with the A’s in his ML debut. He was recalled most recently on July 17 and is 2-4 with a 4.65 ERA in nine starts since his return.

Stevenson was selected from Las Vegas on Aug. 10 and hit .167 with three doubles and a RBI in 23 games with the A’s in his ML debut. He is also batting .275 with five home runs, 25 RBI and 15 stolen bases in 73 minor league games with Las Vegas and Triple-A Durham.
