OAKLAND, Calif. — To celebrate the holiday season and continue to give back to the community, the A’s hosted their annual A’s Week of Giving last week, Nov. 28 through Dec. 2. During the A’s Week of Giving, the Oakland A’s Community Fund donated $120,000 to eight organizations that support communities in the greater Bay Area.

The eight organizations highlighted by the A’s include:

  • City of Oakland Parks, Recreation, and Youth Development
  • Bay Area Crisis Nursery
  • Oakland Public Education Fund
  • Oakland Elizabeth House
  • Family Giving Tree
  • Covenant House of California
  • City of Oakland Community Toy Drive
  • The Salvation Army Garden Street Emergency Shelter

The A’s will continue to spread holiday cheer throughout December with the A’s Community Champions program, which celebrates individuals who are dedicated to improving and supporting our communities. Fans can self-nominate or nominate a person in their community who they believe has demonstrated courage, strength, and self-sacrifice while lending a helping hand. Nominations can be submitted at athletics.com/communitychampion until Dec. 20. The A’s will select and highlight one Community Champion each week in December.
