Blue Jays Claim Cole Gillespie

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have claimed outfielder COLE GILLESPIE on waivers from the Seattle Mariners and to make room on the 40-man roster have designated outfielder KENNY WILSON for assignment.

GILLESPIE, 30, has appeared in 34 games this season for the Mariners, batting .254 with two doubles, a home run and five RBI. The 6-1, 215 lb. right-handed hitter has appeared in 112 Major League games over four seasons, posting a .233 average with four home runs and 25 RBI.

The Blue Jays will make a corresponding 25-man roster move once Gillespie reports to the team.
