Blue Jays claim Mastroianni

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have claimed OF DARIN MASTROIANNI off waivers from the Minnesota Twins and optioned him to Buffalo of the International League (AAA). To make room on the 40-man roster OF KENNY WILSON has been designated for assignment.

MASTROIANNI, 28, has appeared in seven games for the Twins this season, going 0-11. The former 16th round pick of the Blue Jays in 2007 has spent parts of four seasons in the Majors, posting a .220 average with three home runs, 22 RBI and 24 stolen bases in 115 games.

WILSON, 24, is batting .210 with one home run and eight RBI for New Hampshire of the Eastern League (AA) in 2014. The 2008 2nd round pick is in his 7th minor league season.
