Blue Jays claim Redmond

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have claimed RHP TODD REDMOND on waivers from the Baltimore Orioles and optioned him to Buffalo of the International League (AAA). 

REDMOND, 27, split the 2012 season between the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds organizations.  The 6-3, 235lb. right-handed pitcher appeared in 26 games, 25 starts at the AAA level last season posting a combined record of 8-11 with a 3.63 ERA.  The St. Petersburg, Florida native made his Major League debut last season with Cincinnati, losing his only start after allowing four earned runs in 3 1/3 innings pitched.  

To make room on the 40-man roster the Blue Jays have placed RHP DREW HUTCHISON on the 60-day disabled list.
