Blue Jays claim Scott Maine

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have claimed LHP SCOTT MAINE off waivers from the Cleveland Indians.

MAINE, 27, appeared in 30 games for the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians last season posting a 2-3 record with a 6.07 ERA. The Jupiter, Florida native also made 30 relief appearances at the AAA level, registering a 4-2 mark with five saves and a 2.72 ERA. In parts of three major league seasons, the 6-3, 215 lb. left-hander is 2-3 with a 5.59 ERA, striking out 48 in 46.2 innings.

In addition to the claim the following players we re-instated from the 60-day disabled list; RHP KYLE DRABEK, LHP J.A. HAPP, RHP DREW HUTCHISON, RHP DUSTIN McGOWAN, LHP LUIS PEREZ and RHP SERGIO SANTOS.

To make room on the 40-man roster, OF SCOTT COUSINS and RHP DAVID HERNDON were designated for assignment.
