Blue Jays designate Santos
The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have designated RHP SERGIO SANTOS for assignment and recalled LHP ROB RASMUSSEN from Buffalo of the International League (AAA).
SANTOS, 31, has appeared in 24 games this season for the Blue Jays, posting a 0-2 record, five saves and a 7.78 ERA. The Los Angeles, California native spent parts of the past three seasons in a Blue Jays uniform, making 59 relief appearances, going 1-4 with eight saves and 4.83 ERA.
RASMUSSEN, 24, returns for a 3rd time to the Major League club in 2014. In seven outings has allowed four earned runs in six innings, striking out seven. For Buffalo, the left-hander has posted a 2.61 ERA in his 25 appearances.
