The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have placed RHP MARCUS STROMAN on the 10-day disabled list with right shoulder fatigue, retroactive to May 9, 2018. LHP TIM MAYZA has been optioned to Buffalo (AAA), and to take their place on the active roster, RHP JOE BIAGINI and RHP SAM GAVIGLIO have been recalled from Buffalo (AAA).
STROMAN, 27, has posted a 0-5 record this season with a 7.71 ERA in seven games. The 5-8, 180 lb. right-handed pitcher has a career record of 37-30 in a combined 600.0 innings, 491 strikeouts and an opponent's batting average of .261.
BIAGINI, 27, has posted a 0-1 record this season with an 8.10 ERA in two major league starts. The 6-5, 240 lb. right-handed pitcher has a 0-3 record after pitching in four starts in Buffalo (AAA) this season with a 4.57 ERA and an opponent's batting average of .232.
MAYZA, 26, posting a 1-0 record this season with a 4.26 ERA in six game appearances. The 6-3, 220 lb. left-handed pitcher has a 2-0 career record in the majors, after pitching in 19 games in 2017 with a 6.88 ERA and an opponent's batting average of .320. 
GAVIGLIO, 27, was acquired by the Toronto Blue Jays from the Kansas City Royals on March 21, 2018. The 6-2, 195 lb. right-handed pitcher has a 0-0 record while pitching in five games in Buffalo (AAA) this season with a 1.86 ERA and an opponent's batting average of .206. In 16 major league games with the Kansas City Royals and Seattle Mariners he posted a 4-5 record last season with a 4.36 ERA.
