The Toronto Blue Jays have signed free agent RHP Matt Shoemaker to a one-year contract (US $3,500,000).
Shoemaker, 32, went 2-2 with a 4.94 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP across seven starts with the Los Angeles Angels during the 2018 season. He was placed on the disabled list with a right forearm strain after his first start last season and was activated again on September 3. The Wyandotte, MI, native owns a career record of 40-32 with a 3.93 ERA in six seasons with the Angels, striking out 490 batters and a 1.20 WHIP.
