When Bo Bichette launched a towering home run over the Green Monster, out of Fenway Park and onto Lansdowne Street on Tuesday night, things came full circle.

The home run ball landed near a building that once housed a Gold’s Gym. Back in 1991, seven years before Bo was born, his father, Dante Bichette, was in town with the Brewers and stopped in at that exact gym.

That’s where he met Mariana, his future wife and Bo’s mother.

Red Sox radio announcer Joe Castiglione first shared the story on the air on Tuesday, and afterwards, the Blue Jays were able to get the ball back for Bo, who signed a few baseballs for the folks who found it.

Dante played 14 Major League seasons, his last two in Boston, but he was best known for his power at the heart of the Rockies’ lineup from 1993-99 -- belting 274 career home runs. In early 2020, he joined the Blue Jays in Spring Training as a guest instructor. He was eventually offered to stick around as a Major League coach, but Bo got the final say.

“Me and my dad talked about it. Honestly, a lot of players told me they really wanted him there and really wanted him in the clubhouse, so I kind of put my own ego aside and let him come,” Bo said in 2020. “It’s been great so far and he’s been awesome with everybody.”

This season, Dante moved to a special assistant role, working with players across all levels of the organization.
