Blue Jays sign Germano to Minor League deal

The Blue Jays added some pitching depth on Friday, signing journeyman right-hander Justin Germano to a Minor League contract.

In 2012, Germano went 2-10 with a 6.20 ERA over 13 appearances (12 starts) with the Cubs and one relief appearance with the Red Sox. He was signed by Boston as a free agent last offseason but purchased by the Cubs in July after making just one appearance -- 5 2/3 innings of scoreless relief -- in a Red Sox uniform.

Germano has played for five teams during his seven-year career, including two stints with the Padres. He has also pitched for the Indians and Reds.

Over his career, Germano is 10-30 with a 5.27 ERA in 93 appearances (48 starts).
