TORONTO -- Blue Jays shortstop Lourdes Gurriel Jr. left Monday night's 5-3 loss to the Astros after the first inning because of left hamstring tightness.
Gurriel appeared to tweak something while running to first base after hitting a double-play grounder in the first. He slowly returned to the Blue Jays' dugout after the play and was examined by Blue Jays trainer Nikki Huffman. shifted from third base to shortstop to start the second, and entered to man the hot corner.
Gurriel missed almost all of August because of left knee and ankle injuries and he's batting .281 with 11 home runs and 35 RBIs this season.
