Toronto Blue Jays roster moves

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have claimed RHP CORY BURNS off waivers from the Tampa Bay Rays. Additionally, the contract of 1B MATT HAGUE has been selected from Buffalo of the International League (AAA).

BURNS, 26, appeared in 43 games this season, splitting his year between Round Rock Express of the PCL (AAA), Montgomery Biscuits (AA) and Durham Bulls of the International League (AAA).

The 6-0, 204 pound right-hander has appeared in 27 career games with a 1-1 record and a 4.60 ERA spending time with the San Diego Padres (2012) and Texas Rangers (2013).

HAGUE, 29, was acquired off of waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates on August 18. The 6-3, 225 pound Washington native hit .377 with seven doubles, one home run and 10 RBI in 13 games with the Bisons.

To make room on the 40-man roster OF MELKY CABRERA and RHP Chad Jenkins were transferred to the 60-day disabled list.
