Solarte (right oblique) activated from DL

TORONTO -- Infielder was activated from the 10-day disabled list on Sunday morning as the Blue Jays' active roster expanded to 36 players.
Solarte got the start at second base in Sunday's series finale against Cleveland, which marked his first game since Aug. 11. The 31-year-old had been out for almost a month with a strained right oblique muscle.
The return of Solarte added yet another player to a crowded Blue Jays infield. Toronto will now finish the year by rotating Lourdes Gurriel Jr., , , and Solarte through third base, second and shortstop.
also will occasionally see some time at third base and behind the plate, but the Blue Jays recently informed the 13-year veteran that his playing time will be sporadic down the stretch as Toronto uses this opportunity to take a closer look at some of its younger players.
Solarte entered Sunday hitting .233/.287/.397 with 17 home runs and 53 RBIs in 111 games. The native of Venezuela has spent most of his time at third base, but also has received starts at second, short and designated hitter, and he has made four appearances at first base.
