On Friday, June 8, TORONTO BLUE JAYS fans are invited to show their pride at the ballpark when the team hosts the Baltimore Orioles as part of Pride Night presented by TD. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. ET with first pitch at 7:07 p.m. ET.
The first 20,000 fans who enter Rogers Centre will receive a Blue Jays Pride Hat giveaway. Plus, all fans attending the game can take part in pride-themed activations in the WestJet Flight Deck, including live entertainment, photo opportunities, temporary tattoo and rainbow flag giveaways, and food sampling.
"Pride Night represents the diverse, accepting, and vibrant city the Blue Jays are fortunate to call home," said Marnie Starkman, Vice President of Marketing & Events, Toronto Blue Jays. "The inspiration to host Pride Night this season came directly from our fans' feedback, conversations with LGBTQ community groups and members, and the team's desire to offer an inclusive and welcoming experience to all Blue Jays fans."
Pride Night pregame ceremonies will feature 65 LGBTQ community members, selected through TD, carrying a large rainbow flag on field, three ceremonial first pitches by You Can Play athletes, as well as Forte - the Toronto Gay Men's Chorus - performing the national anthems.
In addition, the Blue Jays and Jays Care Foundation have partnered with You Can Play to positively impact the experience of countless Canadian kids playing sports. Facilitated by TD, this partnership will create inclusive spaces through training and education for more than 28,000 young people enrolled in Jays Care programming.
The Blue Jays have also teamed up with several LGBTQ community groups in Toronto to participate in elements of Pride Night and attend the game.
