44 Classic

In 2023, The Atlanta Braves hosted their fifth annual 44 Classic presented by Nike on Saturday, September 23 and Sunday, September 24 at Truist Park. This showcase, with participating sponsor Truist, featured the top diverse high school baseball talent from the Southeast, including from the Braves’ RBI Fall Development Program.

On Saturday, September 23, 44 players took part in an exclusive pro-style workout, including a Home Run Derby, throwing and fielding drills, batting practice, and more. On Sunday, September 24, the athletes played an exhibition game coached by Braves alumni Marquis Grissom, Marvin Freeman, and Johnny Estrada. Professional scouts and college coaches attended on both days.

Hank Aaron Invitational

In partnership with the MLB-MLBPA Youth Development Foundation (YDF), the Braves hosted the top 44 elite high school baseball players from the Hank Aaron Invitational for a special cultural day on Saturday, July 29 and showcase game on Sunday, July 30 at Truist Park. The players were selected to participate based on their performance during the week prior at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Fla.

These elite athletes participated in a civil rights tour of Atlanta on Saturday, July 29, featuring a private tour of The King Center and The Atlanta University Center. The tours concluded with lunch at Paschal’s Atlanta Restaurant, the 'meeting place' for some of the most notable entertainers, politicians, and businesspeople during the civil rights movement. The athletes heard from Paschal’s historian, then from Mrs. Billye Aaron and civil rights leader, Ambassador Andrew Young.

The Hank Aaron Invitational is an annual event – supported by USA Baseball and the MLB-MLBPA Youth Development Foundation – featuring the top 44 high school-aged players from around the United States.

Native American Showcase

The Atlanta Braves and 7G Foundation hosted the second annual Native American All-Star Baseball Showcase at Truist Park on June 23-25, 2023 The top 50 high school baseball players of Native American descent from around the country took part in a pro-style workout on Saturday, June 24 and a showcase game on Sunday, June 25

The Native American All-Star Baseball Showcase highlights Native American high school baseball players who aspire to play the game at the next level. Professional scouts and collegiate coaches were in attendance.

There were two teams for the showcase game on Sunday, each with a 25-man roster. Each roster included at least ten pitchers and two dedicated catchers. Major League Baseball former players coached the teams.
