Braves add Buchter, Obispo to 40-man roster

The Braves added left-hander Ryan Buchter and right-hander Wirfin Obispo to their 40-man roster on Friday, bringing it to 40 players.

Buchter spent the entire 2013 season with Triple-A Gwinnett, making 51 appearances out of the bullpen. He struck out 103 batters in 62 innings, going 4-0 with a 2.76 ERA and five saves in as many chances.

The righty was acquired from the Cubs for pitcher Rodrigo Lopez in May 2011 and attended Major League Spring Training this year.

Obispo was signed by the Braves as a Minor League free agent in November 2012 and attended Major League Spring Training this year as a non-roster invitee. He went 2-4 with a 3.53 ERA for Gwinnett, converting nine of 11 save opportunities in 54 relief appearances.
